How we build and test strategies

West Garden’s research is focused on developing and refining algorithmic strategies. Every idea follows the exact same path.
The Eight Stages
Hypothesis
Formulating the core investment rationale
Modeling
Mathematical
and statistical design
Data Validation
Verifying data quality, integrity, and source provenance
Backtesting
Simulating performance
across multiple market
regimes and cycles
Stress Testing
Running edge cases,
extreme event models,
and scenario analysis
Live Pilot
Deploying on real infrastructure with limited proprietary capital
Active Monitoring
Observing behavioral
drift and efficiency in changing market conditions
Capital Decision
Making the call to scale up, recalibrate parameters, or sunset the strategy

Monitoring & Risk Management

To ensure strategy quality, we deploy an AI-driven protocol trained on over 1,000 real-world trader and asset manager track records across multiple markets. The system evaluates whether a strategy is behaving as intended and can trigger one of three actions: a temporary pause, an extended observation period, or complete capital de-allocation.

Algorithmic oversight is paired with human judgment: market dynamics and strategy behavior are independently reviewed by a specialist in decision-making under uncertainty. No automated action is finalized without this human-in-the-loop validation.

The monitoring system serves
three key functions

Analyzing the performance of each strategy and manager
Identifying top-tier,
high-efficiency solutions
Swiftly cutting off underperforming components from capital

Instruments & Markets

West Garden’s mandate across asset classes and geographies is deliberately broad. We operate across diverse markets not to dilute our focus, but because every strategy undergoes the exact same vetting process and is granted capital only after passing it.

Forex Market

Price trend forecasting and arbitrage strategies

Commodities

Energy, metals,
and agricultural products

Securities

Portfolio strategies across equities, fixed income, and ETFs

Derivatives

Risk management via futures, options, and swaps

Carbon Credits

An emerging market with an environmental focus

The Role of Artificial Intelligence

At West Garden, artificial intelligence is neither a standalone driver of returns nor a marketing buzzword. It is a toolkit for analyzing data, identifying patterns, assessing strategy behavior, monitoring risk, and supporting decisions.

Final investment decisions are never made on a model's output alone. They are executed within a structured governance framework where algorithmic insights, human expertise, and strict risk constraints work in tandem.

What We Disclose
and What We Do Not

We share our process logic, data standards, and risk management principles. We do not publish proprietary signal formulations, model weights, or execution parameters —
this core intellectual property is what keeps
the system effective and secure.
